BUONA PASQUA!
Things I miss about Easter in Italy, even though I was so so so sad and missed my family:
-the Easter vigil at the Duomo with a bonfire that lasted a million years which Meredith and I finally had to sneak out of because we were such tired girls
-Columba cake, Dory-style (with chocolate chips instead of fruit). I almost made one this year.
-spending the day at Dory's house, fed by Jesse
-the sound of all the church bells in Arezzo ringing joyfully on Resurrection Sunday
-everyone in town hurry-scurrying on Maundy Thursday to gather up everything they'd need for the meals all weekend
Had a beautiful weekend home with my family and saw all the right people. Kentucky was lush and filled with green. Went to Opening Day with my dad and cousin Steve--the Reds won 4-0 against the Marlins. Rode 30 miles on Friday with my Uncle Tom, which was niiiiiice.
A brief history of Opening Day in Baseball and why it's so VERY important in Cincinnati:
