my excuse for not posting
I didn't really have time or energy to read other people's much either. I am increasing my endurance, which means my body won't go to sleep because it isn't as tired. It doesn't want to get up by 8:30 in the morning let alone 8 or 7:30. Today I decided to exercise at my apartment gym and see whether that helps.
Interesting(to some) computer note: If I'm surfing in firefox and then hibernate my windows computer, when I boot linux it won't connect to the internet or even ping. I have to go back to windows and shut it down or restart.
Friday I'm flying to Austin to see James. Saturday we're driving to Houston to see my parents. Sunday we'll see his and come back. We're going to go see fireworks on Monday at Zilker I think. OHHHhh I hope there aren't too many mosquitoes. Oh waiting for the bus last year was so miserable and I decided that Amanda B. is a much more likable person than I.
My data has not been coming out. I went to a seminar on how to use our MJ research realtime PCR machine. I asked atleast ten questions and learned new software tricks. Apparently the hardware has a pretty high error rate. A doubling should not be trusted. I don't even know if my gene is upregulated 150%. Primers published by other people don't seem verifiable.
I'm considering being an MD/ Phd (aka MSTP student), but that might get in the way of James going to MIT. Not that I know how to go about applying for the program anyways.
At one of the obesity seminars I attended I did not meet but did sit next to TWo nobel prize winners, Dr. Joseph Goldstein and Dr. Michael Brown ,who did work on cholesterol, which paved the way for things like Lipitor.
I think last week I went to 4 seminars. I haven't made it to pediatric grand rounds yet or seen any surgeries. I need to schedule my checkup. I did request a copy of my entire medical record from UT and went through. Some of it is funny but it can be summed up in one page.
