Like a great creature from the deep, Jennifer Roehm resurfaces, once again showing mankind that she is more than just a sailor's myth.
Speaking of whales, I think I've gained a few pounds. Maybe it's because I'm sitting on my ass all day, killing my soul at Teleservices Direct. That's right, Jennifer Roehm has a job. Never thought I would sink to the level of telemarketing, did you? Let me assure you, it was an act of sheer desperation.
I've been on the job for about a week now. It's not really that bad, really. I'm actually kind of good at it. I made 16 sales on Tuesday, enough to earn me the much-coveted Prize of the Day: a rather spiffy Entourage calendar. Too bad I've only seen about 5 seconds of the show in my life. I think I know someone who would enjoy it more than I, but he would probably refuse the offer, on the account of it being tainted. Kinda like blood diamonds.
Anyway, I have to work an 11-hour shift today, which will be mindnumbing. I'll get to hear the crazy cat lady in the cubicle next to me talk about her favorite psychic all day. What joy, what rapture.
I wouldn't have work such a long shift if I didn't have to make up for the day I skipped on Wednesday. You know, that day I went to see TILLY AND THE WALL!
Korinne and I had an absolutely perfect day. We ate a delicious lunch, went book shopping for hours, browsed at the mall for a bit, then got in line at the venue. More accurately, we started the line. We were the first ones in when the doors opened about 45 minutes later. Front and center. There was tapdancing like six inches from my face. Tilly and the Wall certainly lived up to their reputation as "the cutest band ever." They even played Lost Girls after the encore when I requested it. What sweet kids. Oooh, and I got the setlist too!
Korinne and I had such a good time. I wish more of you kids would've been able to come along.
You know, in retrospect, working 11 hours is totally worth it.
