Okay, here's the deal.
I've had this crazy notion of starting up a community theatre group for quite awhile. A group specifically for young adults ages 16-25. After some careful planning, I've realized that such a thing is very possible. But before anything can happen, funding needs to be acquired. So our first event is going to be a musical revue. They're cheap and easy to put together, and they always get a great turn out because hell, old people love showtunes. Right now I've got a tentative date set of Saturday, May 13th. We're going to do the show at my school's auditorium because it's a really nice facility and also surprisingly cheap to rent.
Here's an open call to anyone interested in performing. You can perform any song of your choice, but the only stipulation is that it must be from a musical. Songs performed in character with at least some choreography are strongly encouraged. (Some group numbers would be fab as well!) You're responsible for providing your own music, whether it be a karaoke track or sheet music. I've already got a pianist lined up for the evening, so you don't need to worry about accompaniment. Let me know if you're interested ASAP!
The 24 Hour Theatre Festival last week went swimmingly by the way. I'll post my play up here soooon!
