welcome to the bay in august
so little wind. oh god, so little wind. we didn't see above 5 knots today and 2 weeks ago the race was called halfway through because there simply was not enough air to get back in.
in addition to the woeful lack of wind, august also means...jellyfish! i think they are funny and if it weren't so painful i would probably poke them a lot. there's only a few this year, cuz they like salty water and there's been plenty of rain. during the 2002 drought, the entire bay was bubbling with them. it was terrifying and awesome at the same time. i love squishy things.
today's race banter seemed to be crack themed and included such gems as "criggedy criggedy crack," "chicken flavored crack," and "the love crack."
please take a moment to consider the following statement:
"hey, look at those waves; i'd sure love to fondle their crests"
yeah, that happened today too.
