Hello! I am so impressed by your writing -- I have just come from your glorious Snily on ff.net, the only Snily I have ever truly enjoyed, one of the most extraordinary takes on the Marauder period, period -- and I cannot wait to read your Snupin. I would love to get to know you better, if you don't mind? Caecelia
Absolutely, my dear! I'd be delighted -- and not just because your comment was so spectacular ;) Haha, joking self-deprecation doesn't translate well over the internet, but really, your comment made my day. :) Glad I got the chance to tell you!
Also, it looks like you have a journal full of lovely recs that I'm eager to check out. I never know where to go to find great fics! And I do love bastard Snape. :D
<3 I have so much more to say about your work, and only stopped because I am never quite sure how my comments come across, and because my flist keeps warning me about overlong posts. But yes, I love your Snape especially, his Northern street-urchin delight in vulgarity, his complete misunderstanding of the way most people tick and over-the-top reactions, his bizarrely extreme emotions, his unvarnished tendency to behave like a bully and actually RELISH the fact ... you craft a marvelous bastard Snape, and I took great pleasure in him

This is much too rushed a comment -- I will return later to finish it -- but I just wanted to say: oh GOD I can't believe you read EA. It is the first fictional story I wrote in the history of ever and is a complete MESS and please don't waste your time with it, or any of my Snarries for that matter, as they have nothing of the depth, plotting genius, characterisation strengths or sheer understanding of canon that defines your work.
I have much more to say about the Snupin, especially the revelation that nice people are ironically Severus' weakness -- a brilliant insight -- but I fear I must dash at present.
In any case, if you feel up to leaving prompts at deeply_horrible, it would be extraordinary fun to see you there! <3 <3 <3
rofl No, no, I enjoyed it! I was trying to parcel it out so I'd get to enjoy it longer, but alas, I reached the end T_T I loved how Snape was completely messed up but still a force to be reckoned with -- I've always found it hard (as I'm writing him, especially when conceptualizing him as a teenager) to balance his emotional desperation and his sadism, frightening intellect and depravity, so that he's simultaneously a dark force to be reckoned with and a boy ultimately pathetic and pitiable. I'm dissatisfied with a lot of teenaged!Snape's, but yours struck that balance very nicely. I've also figured that he probably experimented on animals. =x

Ah, my dear, you are much too kind. I'm glad you liked Severus, nonetheless: he's the one character in that story whom I wouldn't change. If it weren't for all the lovely reviews, though, I would have taken EA down a long time ago. I think I made every mistake one can make while writing fanfiction.
I'm pleased to hear that you liked some of the deeply_horrible prompts! (especially my own, as I would love, love, love to see it filled.) I have been overwhelmed by the response. I do wish we had more prompts featuring the less popular pairings and characters, but one cannot have it all.
Are you working on any new projects? I have been thinking of you and your work quite a bit of late; a friend of mine (also a great fan of yours) and I spent much of yesterday afternoon talking about your amazing ability to build worlds and create believable, exciting and intricate plots. She also directed me to the lovely snippet you posted at silverdoefest, of which I would be very excited to see more. ♥
That's so sweet of you! Haha, every time you leave me a comment, I think, "Is someone saying these lovely kind things about me? Can't be!" ;)
I wrote a lot of material on that Silverdoefest story, in fact, but in the end I decided to scrap it. It was going to be super long, for one thing, and I got kind of burnt out on fic and Snily after finishing COA. I never posted the remainder anywhere, not even here, because I knew it was going to be eternally WIP and it didn't seem fair. =\ But I'm glad you enjoyed the snippet!
For a while I've been working on a girl!Harry story -- Snarriet, in fact -- that's sort of rehashing canon, since I didn't want to go too far afield, but wanted to tweak things that I felt were too glossed over or problematic (and there were a lot of them). It's very ambitious. =x It also has channish overtones that ebb in and out as I try to make up my mind about how perverse I want to be, so I'm kind of holding off posting it until I get an AO3 invite, which probably won't be until February, lol!
Ack, sorry for the late response! I have been logged out of my own account ever since prompting closed/sign-ups opened over at deeply_horrible. Today has been the first slow day in a while.
The moment A03 gives me the ability to send out an invite, you shall have one. :-)
The Snarriet sounds amazing! I love Snarriet -- much too rare these days -- so the idea that there shall soon be one from YOU makes me doubly happy. The more perverse the better, as far as I'm concerned, but trust your instincts. They are very good.
No worries at all! Especially seeing as a pipe burst in your house?? (I think I read on your LJ) Ack! Add that to modding a fest and that is one full plate. :o
Thanks, as ever, for your delightful and generous kindness. :)
