An Issue with the Maknae
Big Bang | Flulff, angst | GDYB with GRi mention | PG | 854 words
Notes: I thought I’d experiment with a Big Bang fic, mostly because I flail over them more than HSJ. It’s my first second time writing for this fandom, so hopefully it turns out well. And yes, this is the fic that has been giving me no sleep because it keeps refusing to be written.. until now. >D
As always, comments are much appreciated. ♥

It shouldn’t be an issue to Youngbae. Better yet it shouldn’t even put him in such a bothered state of mind because the whole group knows that Jiyong is his best friend, his lover of four years and going strong.

Not Seungri. Not the maknae of Big Bang.

And there are no doubts about Jiyong’s feelings for him, especially with all of Jiyong’s sweet lyrics filling up his heart and mind and several lavish gifts taking up half his room. Time certainly wasn’t a problem, what with the bedroom they shared and the years they spent together before their debut as the well-known ‘GDYB.’ Hell, there were more than enough pictures to prove that time together, let alone music videos they were featured in.

So, why was the image of Jiyong playing around with Seungri from the photo shoot earlier that day keeping him from sleeping? Not even with his boyfriend’s slim figure held close to him, tattooed arms wrapped around his bare chest, breathing a steady beat on his shoulder.

Usually, Youngbae would be reassured if he rubbed Jiyong’s forearm and stared at his sleeping face, but that trick wasn’t working. Instead he felt more insecure looking at the relaxed expression on Jiyong’s face; he knew it was his idea to not be openly affectionate. Unless they were behind closed doors, Youngbae chose to keep his affections to a minimum when fans and other people were around. Sure there was the occasional hand holding and sensual stares, but Youngbae wasn’t the type to flaunt his love and prove it with public affections, preferring to do it in own his private time.

He sighed, feeling more irritated by the second. With gentle hands, he removed Jiyong’s arms and placed them on the bed next to him. He sat up, sighing again, internal worries refusing to let him get any rest for the night.

Maybe Jiyong secretly has feelings for Seungri, because he’s not a prude like-

“Stop thinking about it,” a lethargic voice orders him with a leader-like tone echoing the command.

Youngbae jumps a little, startled by the fact that Jiyong is able to read his mind at such an ungodly hour. Hoping not to worry his lover, Youngbae pretends that his lack of sleep is due to restlessness by turning with an innocent face, “Huh? What are you talking about, babe?”

The moonlight gleaming through the window gives Youngbae a dim view of Jiyong cracking an eye open to look up at him, who doesn’t look the least bit convinced. His expression is blank but his voice is serious as he says, “Don’t give me that ‘babe’ stuff, Youngbae.” He reaches up to touch Youngbae’s shoulder and pull him down to the bed to look at him. “I know exactly what you’re thinking about.”

“Oh, really? Well, it’s not like you know everything about me,” Youngbae pouts, annoyed with the fact that Jiyong knows him all to well.

“Aish, you think after all these years I don’t know a thing or two about your way of thinking?” Jiyong can’t believe they’re actually having an argument when they could be sleeping. Or dong something else more productive.

Deciding it was better to be serious; Jiyong rubbed the sleep out of his eyes and turned to his boyfriend. With a grim expression on his face, Jiyong started in a scolding tone, “Yah, Dong YoungBae, you think I’m not faithful? You think I’m easily swayed by other guys? That I look at cute guys because I don’t think you’re good enough for me, huh? Huh?!”

Youngbae’s eyes widened at Jiyong’s sudden accusations. “No, I didn’t mean-”

But before Youngbae can finish, Jiyong pulls him forward and shuts him up with a kiss, one that’s full of still and early sunshine. He parts after a minute to stare at Youngbae’s dazed look. “Look, baby, you shouldn’t worry about me hanging out with Seung-ri. He’s just the cute maknae that I like to joke around with. But you,” he pauses to make a point by caressing Youngbae’s face and stare into his eyes with such unconditional love that the older man almost forgets to breathe. “You are the one I love the most. And not even a maknae as adorable as Seung-ri can even come close to ruining what we have.”

For many moments Youngbae was awestruck. He didn’t know how to respond, especially when he realized just how wrong his thinking had been. “I’m sorry, Jiyong,” the older man finally says when all other words failed him. “I really am.”

Jiyong sighed wearily, but smiled none the less. “I know.” Hoping to catch a few more hours of beauty sleep, he snuggled back into the covers, eyes fluttering closed. “Now, let’s go to bed.”

Youngbae nodded and wrapped an arm around Jiyong’s waist before closing his eyes as well.

Unfortunately, ten minutes later, Seung-ri bursted into the room, greeting them with a sleepy, “Good morning, hyungs! Time to get up,” as part of his maknae chores.

“Damnet babe!” Jiyong groaned, pushing Youngbae off the bed.

The older man could only laugh as he fell to the bedroom floor in response.
