Disneyland Day 1
On the Way to California
1. We didn't get to bed until 10:30pm the night before and got up at 5am
2. Successfully got out the door by 6am
3. Carls Jr made Kuma an impatient bear while Laura did Tink's eye shadow
4. Parked at Blue Sky parking and received free cookie coupon
5. Baggage check took longer than expected.
6. Met up with Aaron's coworker Tracy who was taking the same flight
7. Went to Starbucks kiosk where Tink slowed down the line by cashing American Express check . Tink got Parfait. Aaron and Laura got cinnamon dolce lattes.
8. Boarded flight but had to sit separated. Aaron and Laura sat 13A & 13B. Tink sat in 13E.
On the way to Disneyland
9. Landed in Orange County
10. Aaron changed shirts in the restroom while Tink curled her hair
11. Went to baggage claim and found our bag was the last bag remaining.
12. Went out to Super Shuttle area where Tink braided one side of Laura's hair while we waited for shuttle to leave.
13. Shuttle coordinator gave us a cookie.
14. Rode to Red Lion Inn
15. No early check in available so we consolidated bags for the park and stored luggage with hotel staff
16. Tink finished Laura's other braid
17. Bought ART passes and shuttled to Disneyland.
At the gate
18. Aaron coordinated with his Craigslist contact over the phone to arrange meeting so he could buy his one day pass.
19. Tink was told at Security that she cannot bring her portable stool inside the park and has to have it stored in a locker.
20. Aaron buys his one-day pass from Craigslist contact.
21. Tink is escorted to lockers to store her stool. Angry Tink. Angry Bear and La too.
California Adventure
22. Enter into California Adventure
23. Walking to Screamin' but Aaron and Laura stop to buy Eden's Baby-Minnie pin and some locking pin backs.
24. Arrive at Screamin' only to have a nice young boy give us two Fast Passes for the ride.
25. We tell the attendant that we lost one of our Fast Passes and he allows Tink through only if we "adopt" her since she is hesitant to go on the ride.
26. We ride screamin'. Tink decides it isn't so bad after all.
27. Laura gets off the ride and Tink realizes that one of Laura's Minnie ears is missing but is able to ask the next riders and they find the ear in their seat.
28. We take pictures out in front of Screamin'
29. Head to the Sourdough Bread Factory for the tour and lunch.
30. Aaron &Tink get clam chowder bread bowls. Laura gets a broccoli and cheese bread bowl. Aaron thinks at first that they received corn chowder but is corrected by staff.
31. Laura introduces Tink to taking a shot of creamer packet
32. We head to see the Aladdin show
33. We attempt to play Kinshi in line.
34. We watch the Aladdin show
35. Walk to Monsters Inc ride and get in fairly quickly
36. Went into animation place, took the Which Character Are You Quiz. Tink got Mrs Potts, Kuma got Hades, and La got Cinderella
37. Caught the Minnie's Fly Girls show on the way to Grizzly Rapids
38. Got fast passes for Grizzly Rapids
39. Rode the Little Mermaid ride
40. Did Goofy's Fly School
41. Rode Silly Symphony Swings. Aaron and Laura rode tandem. Tink ditched socks and shoes
42. Did Grizzly Rapids, Tink got a drenched back, La's side got wet, Kuma didn't get very wet
43. Retrieved Tink's stool and jacket from her locker. Tested the sneak-in of the stool and was successful. Tink vindicated.
Hotel Dinner Break
44. Went back to the hotel to change and eat dinner. Tink laid down to rest aching feet. Aaron made Jaipur veggies and rice. We ate.
California Adventure
45. Went to catch World of Color, but it had already started and there weren't any good places to stand, so we decided to come back for the next one.
46. Walked over to do Soarin Over California, but the wait was long. Watched the end of the Disneyland fireworks from a distance. Laura napped briefly.
47. Went to get in line for World of Color at 9:15, when we were told the line was starting, only to find that there was already a long line and that it started moving in at 9:15. However Kuma still found a spot for us to stand with a great view.
48. La and Tink fell asleep while we waited for the show to start.
49. We were startled awake by the announcer saying the show would start in a few minutes. Tink set up her camera to take video and started it at the perfect time right before the show started.
50. The show was awesome and though Tink started watching it sitting on her stool, she soon stood up for the rest.
Shuttle & Hotel
51. After the show, we went to catch a shuttle back. We just missed one so once again took the route 3 shuttle.
52. When we got back, we quickly got ready for bed and PTFOed.
53. When Aaron was asked what time we should get up in the morning, he responded with, "Whenever we get up" which was met by shock and happiness by both Laura and Tink.
