it's amazing how middle schoolers know the war chant before they even get here.
mr. sanz decided we would play the war chant to end the day, and several of my little ones knew it. i was so proud! they don't seem much like a lively bunch of freshmen, but hopefully they'll warm up to me. eight new ones, that's more than we got last year. hopefully more will come tommorow. of course lindsay faith iris baker did an awesome job blowing her whistle and conducting the war chant for the very first time! i think making section leader finally hit me today when i had all these eighth graders not even in my section staring at me, all the while my new ones are turning toward me with questioning looks wondering if they really want to dedicate all their free time for the next four years to one activity! i just hope i can convince em.
