I'm kind of settling down to a less stressed out mind-set. Now that Da's gone, I've decided to tell my mother about Chris and me. Nemo and I had a long talk the other night about what we wanted and didn't want from all the knowledge getting out. It was very freeing. We communicate better now that we're not married. I keep looking back on us and realising how lucky I am. This is not your normal relationship/marriage/divorce. When people look at me after they are told we are divorced, it's like they just don't get it. Divorce is the thing you do when you don't get along. How the hell can I still live in the same house? Maybe because things aren't really that different?
The kids and I are going back down on the 23rd. Boy needs to be back for the 9th - a concert he wants to attend, as long as he gets the tickets. Can't wait to fall asleep beside my husband, watch Chuck, and play find-it games; this long distance thing is a bugger. Our paperwork got accepted, so now we are sent on to another gov't division where they will set up where we go for interviews. We have lots of driving going on, and I have to keep watch on my time spent in the US. I'll be in NY for a few days with Bunny so she can meet up with her BF, who is coming north from PA. Back to Indiana in Aug for a few weeks; back in Oct for Evansville, and hopefully a trip in Dec.
I started classes again for my BCG. Naturally I had begun it before Da died, so I was thrown off and had to do a few courses in a short time. Happily my marks didn't suffer.
Bunny's rat, Trillby, is very ill. We are seeing his breathing as a very major issue, and he is on narcotics for pain from a mass he has on his shoulder as well as steroids and antibiotics we hope will help his breathing. He's such a sweet little guy, and I don't want him to go before his time, but I also don't want him to suffer, so we are on a tightrope right now.
Bunny and I went south just before Easter, and ended up spending longer than expected. Chris's sister (and her husband) came in from out of state for a visit, so I was glad we were able to stay longer. I really love his family, and the memorial day weekend was a really great time for us. It rained a lot in those weeks, but we were able to get a few things planted. At Easter we got a spaghetti squash to make a dish for a potluck, and it had a sprouted seed in it (perfect, no?). We rescued them and ended up with 11 plants - 3 of which were kept, the rest were given up for adoption. We bought a few strawberries and stuck a couple of potatoes from the compost in the ground. It's tiny, but it's ours. We got some lemon balm and sweet woodruff from Chris's great aunt, and it's on the shady side yard. I'd like to put some peppermint in as well so I can make tea. There is a little front garden where we have some peonies, lilies, poppies, columbine, and a huge bunch of lavender ( :D ). There is also a Japanese maple that I bought for Chris a few years ago. The yard has numerous bunnies, squirrels, birds, a chipmunk, and a few other things amongst the trees. We put some chicken wire around the fruit/veg, but I haven't asked Chris about how they are doing. Chris's Indiana sister has a Jack Russel which had a litter of 5 pups; they were adorable! Our niece was in a riding tournament and fell off her horse, breaking her arm. The kid is quite a soldier, I must say, and was able to keep up with Bunny the next day despite the sling, and the pain of waiting for "cast day" which was the following Tuesday.
Singing lessons are coming along fairly well. I suck a lot less than I used to..
I'm tired, and I have some things I want to get done before I crash, so I'm off. It's pretty quiet here, I guess people are all in FB and twitter now. I did get to read a few entries earlier, which I enjoyed. I hope everyone is well.
