Glad Tidings

Dec 24, 2008 22:47

Merry Christmas, Joyous Solstice/Yule (a little late, but I feel the love should last a while), Happy Chanukkah, Joyous Kwanzaa to all celebrating. I'm sure I've missed some majors, but my point is: be safe, be happy, share the love, and most of all forgive those of us who suck getting our cards out on time.

We now have a few clean spots in our house and there is room to sit on the couches. Score one for the home team! Dog cookies have been made and distributed, sugar plums are done, mondo (one 12" and one 18") chip cookies have been made and one has been sliced - what do I do NOW?? Spiced pecans are done and my adapted version of Rosemary's hot chocolate mix has been made and packaged. I've yet to finish wrapping, but I'm much closer to the end. Nemo is busy creating fondue heaven in the kitchen right now and I'm going to get a few things in there tidied up, and then get the milky-egg stuff poured onto the Strada for tomorrow's breakfast. After that I will be prepping things for stuffing etc. Still a few hours left on my day and a rather short sleep ahead, but I might get a rest in tomorrow some time in between all the other cooking/preparing that has to be done. Friday will see us down at my parents and Saturday I leave for my trip away. I hope the power is returned by then, this no-heat/no-light thing will make my hair frizzy.

I hope all of you begin 2009 with hope and wonder, and a chance to be with those you love, and that it travels with you the year through.
