So, this is a Leverage post. I haven't really discussed the show yet, but I was reading John Roger's
blog and I have things to discuss. Everything I discuss may have mild spoilers for the first two episodes, but if you haven't watched those, stop reading this and go do that now. :P
the last image -- Nate and Sophie dancing on the floor, while Hardison and Parker danced in the rafters -- was seared into our brains.
@evening-shadow: Question, though, why was Parker in her rig at the end of the Reunion Job?
In the original script she had rig-work, which we cut. But we so loved the floaty dance, we left that bit in. I will sacrifice a lot for floaty dance.
JUST SAYING. I LOVE THIS SHOW, YOU GUYS.
@Anonymous: Any chance for Eliot to develop feelings for Parker this seasons?
They make a great team (they have a great Wolverine/Kitty beat in mine, #303), but they're not emotionally suited to romance. At least in canon. Do whatever unspeakable things thou wilt on your livejournals.
Heather and I have discussed this a lot about how Eliot is clearly the big brother and he thinks Parker is just a weird freak and how Hardison would cry, but I love it when the producers just agree on all counts. <3 <3 AND THE KITTY/WOLVERINE COMPARISON. OMG. IT MAKES ME WANT GEN FIC AND I HATE GENFIC. I mean, I ship Kitty/Wolverine, BUT I LOVE ELIOT/PARKER AS THE NON-SHIPPY VERSION.
1.) Coincidence. Psych is our only cable boyfriend. We don't cheat.
PSYCH IS THEIR CABLE BOYFRIEND. *_* THERE IS INTERNETWORK LOVE. I SHIP PSYCH/LEVERAGE.
@jarodrussell: If Interpol is Leverage-verse's SHIELD, who does this Italian woman work for? Spear? Hydra?
S.W.O.R.D. That's right,the show is taking a giant left turn ...
*geek hard on*
@Livlife: 2.) Is the "big bad" (as Hardison called it and was that a Whedon/Buffy reference?) going to be an ongoing theme? So when we're in the tenth or so season of Leverage will we be seeing a major target each season that they're working toward, or is that specific to this season? And if this season, then why? Why change the single-ep storyline to an over-arching, season-long con? (Not complaining...I really like the idea, I see fun possibilities, just curious).
2.) Yes, Hardison made an intentional Whedon reference. We just wanted to change things up, see how the arc works. TV is a living medium. Got to keep things fresh. It's not a season-long con. More "1 in 4", although the careful viewer will see us setting up a couple things.
INTENTIONAL WHEDON REFERENCES! \O/
@jGroah: Glad you guys are back John. Alright, rights and license fee aside, what would've been your first choice for the 80s song at the end of 302?
"Don't You Forget About Me."
There's no way to respond to this other than putting on The Breakfast Club. So...yeah.
AND THE GREATEST PARTS:
@Chris Ayers: Loved the premiere(s). I noticed that when Parker was posing for the photos she was, shall we say, very comfortable in her own skin. Will this come into play in later episodes or is it a one-time quirk of her personality?
She's suddenly aware (and comfortable) of her effect on Hardison this year, and you'll see that evolve.
@ANonymous: Alright, I'm just laying this out there: Parker and Hardison have no romantic chemistry and never have. They look great standing next to each other, and they can be kind of touching when they connect as friends, but I just don't see any sparkling chemistry between them as a couple. Not to mention that Parker's sudden willingness to engage in coupledom is coming straight out of left field.
First, you're high. Kidding, kidding. To be fair, the first kiss in "First David" was intentionally the worst kiss we could get them to do. Second, she's not willing to jump into coupledom. They haven't even really kissed. What she's doing is engaging in flirting for really the first genuine time in her life. but she will have to deal with the fact that with genuine emotions comes genuine, ah, misery...
@Penguin on the Telly: what are your plans for Parker and Hardison this seasons?
Confusion, but not cruelty.
So, I have the worst luck in the world. I ship canon stuff, and then fandom hates it, and then canon breaks them up (yes, I'm still pissed TBBT). But I LOOOOOVE that my OTP is not only canon here, but the producers of the show are basically saying, "I don't care if you don't like, fuck you very much, this is our pairing and we're keeping it." PARKER AND HARDISON ARE IN LOVE, DEAL WITH IT, PEOPLE. <3
A WEEK WITHOUT LEVERAGE IS LIKE A WEEK WITHOUT SUNSHINE, WHICH FLORIDA HAS PROVEN TO ME BY NOT LETTING ME SEE THE SUN IN A WEEK. SHOW NEEDS TO BE BACK YESTERDAY.
