Madeelly gave me Three sisters find themselves broke and decide to move in together.
The Archer women have only had each other since their father left then eight years ago. Time has put distance between the sisters, but when their mother dies suddenly, they have to pull their lives together and learn to rely on each other again.
Viola Archer (Julie Benz) is the eldest of the sisters, a young lawyer out on her own, trying to prove to her firm that she's worthy of partner. When her mother dies, she has to take custody of her youngest sister and try to find a balance between sister and parent.
Desdemona "Dezzie" Archer (Kristen Bell) just graduated and has no idea what she wants to do with her life. Dealing with her mother's death is hard on her because she never got over her father leaving. Without any type of responsibility, she flits from idea to idea without letting herself settle down.
Cordelia Archer (Amy Gumenick) is trying to get used to living with her older sisters after years of being home alone with her mother. After moving both home and schools, she tried to adjust to her new life without her parents.
Ray Harper (Michael Rosenbaum) has been Dezzie's best friend since middle school, as well as the occasional boyfriend. Always free-spirited, he's finally starting to mature into adulthood, worrying Dezzie that he'll leave her behind.
Ally Volkov (Hannah Spearritt) is Viola's best friend. She's a freelance artist who would rather spend time traveling than have any sort of stability. She's never been able to understand Viola's need for responsibility and thinks she's crazy for trying to take care of her sisters too.
Ian James (Michael Trucco) is Viola's boss and a partner at the law firm that she works for. After her mother died, the two had a short, passionate affair that led to them being estranged as colleagues.
Caleb Stone (Aldis Hodge) is a new junior associate at Viola's firm. He was assigned to her to learn more about how things work after you pass the bar, and is the last project she ever wanted.
Mia Lane (Danneel Harris) is a friend of Dezzie's and a producer of...specific adult entertainment.
Dr. Henry Bancroft (Jamie Bamber) was Dezzie's former professor that she had a fling with. Even though he's married, he feels more comfortable pursuing her now that she's graduated.
Neil Archer (Christopher Meloni) is the girls' estranged father who comes back into their lives searching for renewed relationships after their mother dies, along with his new wife Grace Archer (Lauren Graham) and step-daughter Cara Pierce (Sophia Bush).
