Doctor Who 5.01
Preface: I haven't seen season 4. Or the end of season 3. I haven't even watched past Blink, tbh, because I know deep in my heart that it really doesn't get better than Sally Sparrow. But I watched this mostly because madeelly loves it and that's a damn good reason to do anything.
I REALLY HATED the first ten minutes. Like, all I could see was this disgusting man being an asshole to this poor little orphan and I was like WAY TO NOT ENDEAR ME TO YOUR DOCTOR, ELEVEN. I was never a great fan of The Doctor to begin with (Nine was overbearing and a tad creepy, and Ten was overall meh other than the "here, have some Ritalin" parts) and that was not an awesome beginning.
I quickly warmed up to the show after he left and then came back twelve years later. EPIC IMPROVEMENT. The sick humor is just not my thing and I will be very happy if they never go back to it.
I LOVE AMY POND. I love her and she is pretty and her hair is so fierce and she might be my favorite companion other than Sally Sparrow who counts because she's Sally Motherfucking Sparrow.
I know that I am essentially doing the show wrong a lot because I always get so mad when the companions go with The Doctor. WHICH IS THE ENTIRE POINT OF THE SHOW. But I hated Rose for a long time because of that. And I am the only person in the world who shipped Rose/Mickey, and I'm probably gonna ship Amy/Rory too. Rory was amazing. I want Rory and Jeff and Jeff's awesome grandma to just be in every episode, which is, again, NOT HOW THIS SHOW WORKS.
That's quite possibly another reason why I haven't finished a good chunk of the series.
I will do my best to keep up every week because I like Amy and I think Eleven could grow on me and it looked like Rory was coming back, which I think is a great idea. Amy/Rory OTP. And maybe Eleven/Jeff WE'LL SEE WHAT HAPPENS.
