So let me get this straight:
- We got Obama for four more years.
- Elizabeth Warren in the Senate.
- Gay marriage by popular vote in 3 states.
- Homophobic "traditional marriage" laws voted down in another state.
- The first openly gay Senator.
- The first openly bisexual congresswoman.* (MY DISTRICT, Y'ALL.)
- Sexist rape apologists kicked out of Congress.
- The first Asian-American woman in the Senate.
- The first disabled female veteran in the Senate, who also happens to be a person of color.
- The first Hindu in Congress, also a woman.
- DREAM Act passed in Maryland.
Am I missing anything? (Not counting Puerto Rico because they may have voted "yes" to being a state, but Congress still has to actually make that happen.)
* - Technically, the race has not been called yet. Kyrsten Sinema has maintained a steady lead throughout, though, and it's continuing to grow as more votes are counted.
