Much as I hate to admit, I have to hand it to RTD - WoM creeped me the fuck out. That's something that's difficult to accomplish - even Supernatural doesn't do anything for me in terms of scares. The last time I got genuinely creeped out in a suspenseful-scary kind of way was, again, when I was watching DW. Blink, to be exact. Funny how a family show can accomplish what a horror show never does.
This time, I'm chalking it up to Phil Ford's de-crapification co-writing.
Anyway. The water zombies were freaky as hell. The whole monologue about how water waits, how water water always wins? That literally gave me shivers, because I live about 4 and a half hours away from the
ultimate example of the truth behind that.
Then, of course, Ten broke my heart. We've seen hints and glimpses of his dark side here and there throughout the series, but to have it put right out there like that hurt. I think a little part of me that daydreamed about adventuring with the Doctor got a really cold, really uncomfortable reality check. He can be wonderful, but with the Doctor comes the monsters, and they don't always come from without.
Finally, the preview for the End of Time killed me dead. O_O;;
