A person with a sense of humour ... and from Scotland! Och. My paternal grandfather - who died ten years or so before I was born - was originally from Glasgow. But that only entitles me to claiming a 25% interest in the bonny old world.
I can rant about right-wing fucktards ... or fuckheads, whatever you prefer.
I am not likely to disappear after posting once. I've been around here for nigh on 13 years or so, but I've drifted further away recently than I care to admit. I must admit, I have made better friends with people here on LJ than is ever possible on FB.
You sound like an interesting person, albeit a bit on the young side. I was graduating highschool at the time you were presenting yourself to the world.
I too am no longer married and no kids - for which reason I too can cheer given the shithole of a world we're leaving the next generation.
Let's see, what else? Former lawyer, I gave my practise up to become a professional actor and have succeeded in doing this for the past 18 years. And I've never regretted it for one bloody second.
Oh, and I'm a filthy socialist as well though in Canada, we are harder to pick out of the crowd. I'm probably a bit further to the left of most conventional socialists however.
Archaeologist? Interesting choice of profession, but the fact that you are an artist significantly redeems yourself. Not that I have anything against archaeology or the University of Edinburgh (I've taken a couple of MOOCs from that institution.)
I'll add you as friend and leave it to you if you wish to respond in kind.

I'm sometimes amazed there's any of us left here, given how many folks steamed off to Canada.
And yes I very much agree, I have made loads of very good friends on LJ over the years. But not once have I made anything close to a friend on the dreaded Facebook. The best I can say for it is that it sort of vaguely kept me in touch with people I used to know.
Truly, we're leaving a dreadful shithole to the next generation. I honestly don't understand how people with kids aren't one hell of a lot more motivated about doing something. But everybody just shrugs their shoulders and goes oh well, things are okay today. Which is true, we're very lucky to be alive at this stage of human history, for sure. But...
My dreaded ex was an actress. Well, she wanted to be an actress. Tried to get into the industry for years, but never actually did anything apart from a background part in a tv movie. Crazy crazy place Los Angeles. Did not like that city.
