The Blot was pretty freakin' sweet. I actually tried some of the mead this time. I never did before because I'd never had mead before and when I try something new the chances of me making some hideous, crazy face are much higher than one might expect. I actually kind of liked it. It was a blot to Odin which was weird but generally turned out okay.

Mike decided to give us all a small rune reading on the fly and mine was rather comforting. I only thought of one question but it managed to answer many that I didn't think to ask. My answer was basically "Things are fine or will be fine soon. Quit worrying." (I'm fairly certain that if anyone gets the inspiration to make me a certain "spirit animal totem" that it will say that to me. ie: Aubrey's was Janice the "Make a decision in the next thirty minutes, Aubrey!" Cardinal.) I tend to over-think, over-worry about things that don't need it and then not worry at all about things that need worrying about.

After that we went to the Smokehouse and ate meat.
Lots of meat.
I had alligator meat and a burger. I think it's possible to eat like, six kinds of meat there or something. They had crawdaddies for goodnessake. It was a great meal with nine of the coolest people ever.

Later in the evening we watched "The 13th Warrior". Antonio Banderas as a Muslim from Baghdad. With Vikings. (Apparently it was written on a bet that Michael Crichton couldn't make the story of Beowulf interesting.) One of my favorite things someone said while watching it was "HAHAHAHA! He could've been gettin' crunk the entire time!!!!" in response to this:

Ahmed Ibn Fahdlan: [as Herger offers a mead horn] I can taste neither the fermentation of grape, nor of wheat.
[Herger laughs]
Ahmed Ibn Fahdlan: What? Why do you laugh?
Herger the Joyous: [laughing, and handing over the bottle] HONEY! It's made from honey!

Oh, Vikings.

Anyhow, after that we attempted to watch Harold and Kumar go to White Castle but the dvd was too scratched up. Damn you, Fat Cats! Damn you!

Then I meandered home, took some 600mg ibuprofen and went to sleep.
