It was very possible that Lavender was going overboard with Roger's birthday plans, but she always did. Besides, this was the first birthday of his they were going to spend together in nearly ten years and the first as husband and wife. She really wanted to make it special, maybe somehow create a few traditions and just have a little fun

Though not as delicious as-
"Well, good morning, birthday boy-" she grinned, coming out from behind the island with the tray.
"We're all alone. You really didn't have to put pants on."
Lavender offered him a knowing look, looking slightly disappointed but it was mostly just teasing.

It took a moment to drag his eyes away from the way the thin material moved high on her thighs.
"But if I don't need pants, you really didn't need that. As much as I love it."

She didn't have any issue tearing her clothes off right here in the kitchen. After all, there weren't any kids around.
But there were stacks of pancakes and sizzling bacon on the table now.
"You are the birthday boy after all, even if that detour messes some of my plans-"

The grin was still on his face when he leaned down to kiss her, still considering if he really did want to put on the brakes for the food that smelled delicious. It really wasn't a contest, actually.
Touching Lavender always won out over everything else.

She didn't hesitate to wrap her arms around his neck and reach up to press a kiss to his lips.
"Well, if you had other morning plans in mind I'd be a terrible wife to deny to-" she grinned, nuzzling her nose against his.
"How old are you now, by the way? Having a mid-life crisis yet?"

He was still at the top of his Quidditch game, even though he knew he was on a down swing from here. In a few years, he'd be fighting to prove he could still hold up against the younger players.
For now, though, there wasn't a single thing he could complain about.
Roger pulled back enough to press a ridiculous, quick kiss to the tip of Lavender's nose. "I'll wait until the kids are teenagers for that."

Even if Roger was coming to the close of his playing career she didn't doubt that he'd find a way to stay involved somehow. Though, he wasn't going to get edged out any time soon. He was still on the top of his game, on a winning team, and headed for bigger and better things.
Besides, it wasn't like the two of them needed to be working. She married into money with out even realizing it.
"At least buy me a vacation house to make it up to me, big shot."

A few short months ago, Lavender wouldn't have been able to do that.
"But I can't promise not to buy all the latest brooms and probably a couple condos." He felt so light and excited, buoyant at where they were in their lives and how much there was to look forward to in the next year of his life, that he couldn't keep the bright look out of his eyes as he looked down at her.
"But I'll let you pick all the places I buy houses. As long as there's one for the winter and one for the summer."

It was hard to feel anything but wonderful as Roger's hands danced up and down her sides. A shiver ran down her back.
"Well, two tropical houses would just be foolish if you don't have at least one near a ski resort-" she agreed, rolling her eyes in a dramatic and pompous way.
"As long as you promise to look at me like this every morning then you can buy anything that you want."
She leaned in then and brushed her lips lightly against his.

They had had their share of bumpy moments since Lavender came back, but those were all worth it for the moments like these.
His lips quirked against hers. "I really don't think that's going to be a problem," Roger promised just before pressing his lips more firmly to hers, hands tightening against her to pull her closer.

Everything felt lighter when she was in Roger's arms, always had. Suddenly all the weight of the last few months were drifting away and long distanced memories. It was just the two of them there in the kitchen becoming quickly entangled in each other.
