Closed; House Hunting with Roger

Feb 26, 2014 14:56

As rocky as the house hunt may have started, their realtor showing them an estate of all things, the whole process was actually a lot of fun. It turned out that Lavender was a little bit more picky than she realized she would be, looking for a very specific type of feel when they walked through the front door, that Yes, we're finally home realization that just hadn't hit her yet. But there was an image in her head and well, now there was a little Davies on the way, and she just didn't want to settle anymore, not for anything when it was clear that they could have everything together.

Lavender had spent the morning at her desk, going over some of the better shots from Roger's game over the weekend and putting together a spread for the next sports issue. Her boss was already trying to get her to slow down, throwing a few editing pieces at her from time to time rather than the freelance, on-site jobs that she was used to taking up. Normally she would have argued, feeling completely fine and still two weeks away from her second trimester - but it was February and the office was nice and cozy.

She ducked out right after lunch, finishing off her herbal tea and already missing being able to work her way through an entire pot of coffee as she worked, and headed over to the next listing that Destiny had lined up. Even though they had given her an exceptionally hard time their first time out she had quickly turned everything around, the properties in actual neighborhoods, though still much larger than Lavender ever imagined they'd be looking at but that seemed to just go along with their budget. Why even bother with three bedroom starter houses when you could move into your dream house?

This house was definitely impressive, the landscaping kept up very nicely with a really charming feel despite the size.

"Hey, love-" Lavender had a wide smile on her face as she approached her husband, a really good feeling in her gut. "What do you think so far?"
