New Years Eve Bash at Lavender & Mandy's (Invitation Only)

Dec 29, 2013 19:45

The year was coming to a close but Lavender refused to make any new resolutions. The way she saw it, she had already started over two months ago when she returned to England after six years of traveling for work. Now that she was back she was working to find a balance between the person she had been and the person she had become. She didn't want to ( Read more... )

"Of course, I did!" Roger grinned, not even missing a beat. Actually, it was surprising he hadn't made it over here before now. They'd mostly been at his flat, which was honestly at least better than having a roommate around.

"And this is your party, you should never have an empty cup, he told her, sliding it out of her hand and replacing it with another.

"You're the best," she grinned, happily taking the fresh drink. Rum and coke, which was mostly rum - just the way she liked it.

Lavender leaned in and kissed his cheek which, for the level of intoxication, was holding back.

"Tell me about your night. I missed you."

Chuckling, Roger nodded, perfectly fine accepting that.

Wrapping his arm around her shoulders, Roger pulled Lavender close and scrunched up his face for a moment in thought. "There was some drunk racing until the Cannons' chaser fell off his broom. And a bar that was boring because you weren't there."

Lavender leaned into him, wrapping her free arm around his waist. He smelled like alcohol but also like his cologne.

"Well that sounds rather dull," she mused, scrunching her face up at him. "Sounds like you might have missed little ole me."

Shifting his drink to make sure he didn't spill any of it, he wrapped his other arm around her waist in the front.

"Missed you? Really? Do you think?" Roger's grins was looser than usual, but he definitely didn't care, far more interested in how warm Lavender was. "What gave me away?"

Lavender leaned into him, shamelessly nuzzling against him in front of her other guests. Though, she wasn't thinking of anybody else in the room. She finished off about three drinks and maybe four or five shots. Her head was swimming and all she could focus on was how good Roger smelled to her.

"I'm a really good guesser -" she joked, looking up at him with a goofy smile.

"By the way, you haven't kissed me yet. What are you waiting for?"

Roger might be tipsy, but he was pretty sure Lavender was further along than he was. She was loose and had that look to her eyes that he'd know anywhere.

"Good question. Bad move on my part." Roger laughed, turning without letting go and bending enough to press his lips to hers, muttering between kisses. "I should always be kissing you."

Sure, all of Lavender's friends were here and he knew they tended to get very wrapped up in each other extremely quickly, but he cared even less with alcohol running though his system than on a completely sober night - when he still didn't care much.

His lips were soft and tasted faintly like tequila - or, maybe, those were her lips. She had, after all, just taken a shot of it.

Regardless, she melted into him and with the added height from her heels she didn't have to reach so far. She felt her stomach flip flop.

"Don't ever stop kissing me-" she agreed, grinning against his lips.

"Not going to be a problem," he told her, barely pulling away far enough for the words to be audible, even to them.

Moving away even that much was hard, though, when he was entranced with chasing the sharp taste of liquor on her tongue.

Lavender leaned into him, deepening the kiss quickly and shamelessly in the middle of her living room. But by this time of night everyone was already wrapped up in their dates or too drunk to notice.

"Best way to start off the new year-" she grinned, setting down her drink for a moment to wrap her arms around him properly.

"It's not the new year yet," he told her, already going in for another kiss. He really should be more concerned about where they were. But if he didn't much care when there were photographers - other than Lavender - around, he really didn't care if it was their friends.

"But I can think of a few ways that might be even better."

This was the way she liked them the best - when nothing else mattered and all they could focus on were each other. They may have been in a room full of friends but they had gotten used to this when the couple had been just sixteen- they could get used to it again.

"What brilliant idea do you have swimming inside your head?" she asked him, one eyebrow rising curiously.

"I can go two ways with this," Roger laughed. There really were. There was the sexy way and the cute way. He, of course, had a preference, but he'd give her both.

"I haven't had an actual tour of this place yet. I'm thinking you have a room around here that might appreciate some attention at midnight." As he spoke, Roger leaned closer. Nuzzling their noses together.

"Or, we abandon all your friends at your own party and take a field trip."

They were both temping, really. They hadn't yet properly broken in her new room or bed yet which really was a shame.

But then again-

"Where does the field trip lead?" she asked him, playing with the material of his shirt. Lavender nuzzled him back, kissing at his nose.

"And does the field trip lead to the same activities as the bedroom?"

Roger wrinkled his nose and shook his head, sliding into a grin and nuzzling closer.

"It does, just not as quickly. It also involves the Magpies abandoned pitch."

She perked up at the idea of it.

"Wait - just the two of us with the entire pitch to ourselves?" she asked, already excited over it.
