One word: Heartbroken.

Thank you for the heads-up at the start; this was certainly a rattling chapter, especially with the song on play.

I know, I know, I'm sorry ... I mean, I cried while writing it... like I said, I don't know where it came from. I promise happy fluffy love explosions from now on though, ok?

Thanks! I was honestly a little concerned for you reading it cause of your trips, but i guess that was a while ago and they're all fine now :) I'm glad you liked it.

It's all good! You may just have to keep writing to get me through a Gleeless summer...Lily in a posh preschool perhaps?

I've actually considered continuing this verse with some one-shots and stuff ... we'll have to see how it plays out. I think there are going to be 3 more chapters, plus an epilogue in this one (unless my brain goes crazy again and it gets longer or something.)

But I also have other ideas for other fics rolling around in my head, so we'll see what happens.....

and i totally don't know how i'm going to get through a glee-less summer myself ... wish i could go to glee live sooooo bad, but they're not coming anywhere near me :(

:(

In nursing school, I spent a night in the NICU, and unfortunately witnessed this situation. It's just awful. And it made me realize that I could never work pediatrics. I don't think my heart can take it. God bless those who do it on a daily basis.

Can't wait for some fluffiness after this one.

Wow ... you went on a bad night :( We really don't do codes that often, but when we do, they tend to stick with you. I'm sorry you had such a sad experience, cause the vast majority of the time, it's not like that at all.

(I'm a NI nurse, if you couldn't tell already...)

I figured you were :)

I think I just have bad luck. I did an observation in an ER once, and everyone was saying it was a slow night...and then two boys came in from a fatal MVA. I think I should stick to my psych patients.

Ooh, brave you with the psych. Not my cup of tea. I like babies much better.

This may have been angsty, but it was absolutely beautiful.

These most recent chapters have hit really close to me, being that lately I've been thinking about what I want to do in life, and pediatrics is something I've considered ever since my nephew was born. Like I said earlier, my favorite pass time in the hospital was asking his nurses questions about everything.
So thank you for creating a fic like this right at this point in my life because honestly you couldn't have had a more perfect timing.

:) I'm glad it's so applicable - and if you ever have questions about school/nursing/how things work, I'll be more than happy to talk to you!

That was a very intense and sad chapter! The doctors and nurses have a very tough job!

It's not always that tough. When it's good, it's fantastic, and when it's bad, it's really, really bad. NICU is sort of an emotional rollercoaster like that ... but there's a lot more good than bad.
