Boy, you captured this perfectly. The shock, the anger, the sadness, every emotion you could pack in you did. Even though I knew what was coming, I wept. I have recently sustained a major loss, and the initial shock is just as you described. And it goes on much longer than I ever dreamed. You are a master.

Losing someone through death is one thing; losing someone through separation is quite another, because that person is still out there somewhere but totally unattainable. So one is left with so many "what ifs". I can totally relate to your story; Kurt and Blaine have to deal with Violet's existence with someone else and having their hearts totally torn apart. And you've dealt with this incredibly well.

I liked the scene where we saw Abby getting Violet back, and the reactions of Karen and Holly. Abby had the right to change her mind, but she needed to realize the pain she caused. Stuff like that is part of growing up, and she's going to have to grow up fast now.

I meant to ask in the last chapter--what was the book that Kurt and Blaine read to Violet right before Karen took her? I've been a nanny for almost twelve years, and I know a lot of baby books, but I didn't recognize that one.

The book is called Wherever You Are My Love Will Find You by Nancy Tillman. It is the SWEETEST book.
