i should rename this "chipper's journal"...
...or start one just for him, since all the entries are about him.
chipper had his third chemo this week. he's doing great, no side effects at all, and he's even gained a little weight. best of all he's PLAYING, really playing, not just grabbing at a toy a few times when i put it within his reach but chasing and pouncing on his mouse-on-a-string toy and even (this is SO like him) outsmarting the game by sitting on the string so i can't move the mouse. did i mention that chipper's a smart cat? :D he's also chasing molly, not just a few steps but this morning he chased her all the way across the living room and up the stairs! he hasn't done that in over a month, in fact i can't remember the last time, which really caught her off guard because i think now she's gotten used to the idea that he doesn't chase her as much and she's spending more time on the floor instead of in her usual places up out of his reach. now she's going to have to adjust to his playfulness all over again. it's amazing how my thoughts about this have changed - i used to think "poor molly, chipper's chasing her again" and now i think "good kitty, chipper's chasing molly!" it's a completely different thing when it's a sign of him feeling good. molly can take care of herself, she's always had plenty of safe off-the-floor places including the one on top of the computer next to me.
i broke a tooth today, crunched down on a popcorn kernel and the next thing i knew half of a tooth was gone. i don't know how that much can break off and not hurt but so far it doesn't, which is a good thing because of course the dentist's office is closed until monday. just what i wanted this week, a trip to the dentist.
