A lot happened last week. I joined a writing contest for a KKM livejournal community, attended a gallery/exhibit for photojournalism, went to Glorietta with Ye Jee and the new Ayala mall here in North just opened. It was fun, so to speak but lacking in some jaded way. It might be the heat that's ticking me off as usual but now, I'm not so sure. Anyway, I got a lot of feedback from my contest entry and some suggested that I do a sequel of sorts circling on the relationship of the three brothers. For a moment, I actually entertained the idea and wrote half of it down but then I realized my well had gone dry yet again. I'll try to get it finished by this week though if I won't be busy. I suggested a prompt as well dealing with Wolfie's relationship with his soldiers which is something that I'm looking forward to do. Perhaps it's my father or those frequent war novels that influenced my way of thinking and quirked an interest in topics like these.
We also went to a photojournalism gallery/exhibit yesterday. It was heartwrenching, to say the least. Some people were crying from the intensity and the violence in some shots, probably because they knew that these wasn't pictorials, it was but a snapshot of a raging reality outside the world that we live in. Seeing those pictures made me rethink about the choices that I made in my life and how I'm supposed to handle future ones. And it's quite ironic to think that war is sometimes necessary to attain peace. We would not know peace if we do not experience war. But sometimes, I wish there could be something more that we could do. Well, maybe there is... just not right now.
It had been almost a year since I last played DDR and heck, it was a lot of fun. Although I did lose my touch on most of the steps, I enjoyed dancing to the music and then, eating out with Ye Jee on some Korean restaurant. Haay, I definitely would go back there and spend a whole frickin' day in Timezone. I'd write more but I have to finish some transactions in Gaia. ^^
