There was a girl today. A girl I could have helped. But I didn't. She couldn't speak because she was too full of water. And I didn't help her. Louise still won't talk to me. She's here. I know because I can hear when Gavin talks. But she won't say a thing

None of us can help everyone all the time, as much as we might want to. You can't spend your time beating yourself up over those who slipped away. Instead, remember all those you have helped, and the gratitude they feel, the peace you've brought. You're a good person, Lavannah. One of the best. I trust that in the end, things with you will be right.

A time like this may well prove to be an ending. That doesn't mean there won't be a beginning, though. All our lives have eras. Mine certainly has. I know the changes we go through well.

I don't think it's your time to go away, Lavannah. If it's something you need, though, perhaps we could travel together when Thomas is feeling better? I know my way around much of this world. I could take you anywhere you'd like to go.

It's all the same, no matter where you go.

Now, perhaps. But everything changes. It's the nature of life. Some things grow, others fade away. The pain you feel now will not remain as it is forever. Change is one of the few things we can ever guarantee.
