Yes, finally I've gotten some word about where I'm going. For my first 4 weeks in Germany while I am attending a language camp I will be staying with a family in Remscheid. The town is around Düsseldorf, Cologne, and Bonn (the fmr. capital of W. Germany). There's wine in the region and hills. The family I'll be with has 4 people, the father is a lawyer, the mom is an economics teacher, and 2 girls aged 15 and 12) who are students. I'll send out more detailed info about my future in Germany later. My departure is under a month away now and finally it seems real... dunno if that's a good thing or not.
Summer is so fun... I'm gonna miss it. Last Wednesday's poker night at my house was sooooooooo much fun... as always. We really didn't play poker at all. We rented My Fellow Americans. The people at Blockbusters are idiots... they didn't remove this lock they put on dvds to keep you from opening it. So in a really tired and desperate state we took some nasty ass cutting insturments from my dad's workbench and cut the spine of the DVD case open. I'm ashamed to go back to Blockbuster and return it... I dunno what's gonna happen to me! lol. Also, I think there are some things I'll never live down for the rest of my life...
Friday night was another good one. The Flick and Float at the Y was worse than camp with (at it's peak) 60 people in attendance. There were issues with the guards and I felt bad because Leanne who had been there for 8hrs and was just swimming laps got sucked into guarding and so did Clarisse who had brought her kids with to watch the movie. So much for enjoying the night with her kids. Colleen came late and ended out chilling wiht me until the end of my shift. Afterwards we went out to Barnes and Nobles for coffee and bought a book each. I went to drop her off at her house and we ended up sitting on the stoop of her house until 1am talking about life. I got home, warmed up some leftovers from my dinner with Mrs Kilkenny Monday, ate while chilling wiht my dad who was fixing a computer. I went to bed at about 3am.
Saturday morning I taught swim lessons. I love my first class and I feel pleased at how well they're learning already. The second class is hell because they're younger than I expected and can't swim well. I hate that level. My final class is one of the most advanced levels I can teach and I love them too. Most of them could really be in the highest level class but aren't so I'm lucky and can do more advanced stuff than I expected. I randomly started talking to Art. He seems like a cool guy and I never felt motivated to make conversation with him before but hey, better late than never! Humm what else happened Saturday... EJ called. That was exciting because I wasn't expecting it. I love suprises, plus the lucky kid is driving out to Indiana today... lucky brat.
I'm starting to smell dinner on the stove... better get upstairs to eat! Ciao!
