:D Thanks. I was translating Ovid into English blank verse, so it was a short step from there to this.

How do you do negative imperatives? Is that it? I blanked and still cannot remember. I need a proper grammar.

It's easy to lose. I can pretty much guarantee you there are at least five mistakes I shouldn't have made in that verse paragraph, but hey. It's a start. (This may also explain any problems you have understanding it. :D)

I wonder if he spoke Latin. I'm guessing he probably did. I've come across passages in his work where he suddenly inserts a word of Greek and I have no idea what it means or even how to pronounce it.

I'm pretty sure he did speak Latin, given his education and when he was alive. Not positive though.
