hipsunderhands asked how my holiday season was going. It's okay. I had a ton of extremely stressful work stuff in the week leading up to Christmas (arrrrgh) and I am still sort of in recovery from that, at this point. I did get Christmas Eve and Christmas Day free, which is nice, and went to see my parents, which was mostly nice although occasionally less nice. We did make it most of the way through dinner on Christmas Eve before anybody told anyone to shut up.
I also am typing this on a brand-new and as yet unnamed MacBook Pro, which I recently purchased with a great deal of assistance from
scazon, who is amazing and a glorious human being. It is kind of astonishing how nice it is to actually have a really good computer for once, which has basically never happened to me before. It's not really helping with my internet quasi-addiction, but I assume at some point in the next couple of decades we'll all just get chips in our heads anyhow, so maybe it's not a thing.
I actually have a few days off now, though of course I am taking the opportunity to fill them up with all the little tasks I haven't been doing, coffee dates I haven't been making, and projects that I haven't been starting. I think overall this will decrease my stress levels almost as much as taking the time off properly would, but I am trying not to make it excessive. Well, too excessive.
So, things are actually quite good. What's new with all you lovely people?
EDIT:
scazon has christened the MacBook Thuja plicata (the scientific name for red cedar), Thuja for short. *pets Thuja*
