rhapsodes are the best generals

Greek is an evil, evil language, much more so than any other I've had experience with. It has a different alphabet and uses accent markings, which change a lot, a middle voice in addition to the passive and active, aspect in addition to voice, mood, and tense, a genitive absolute which acts just like the ablative absolute in Latin but makes even less sense, a word for "today" that sounds like "tomorrow," and a word for "apple" that sounds like "melon." And I've just learned a year's worth of material in this language in a month.

Anyhow, Konstantin has given himself stomach flu, poor man (maybe he's not a robot after all), so we're learning some really evil stuff from the tutor, who is a lovely girl from Holland - I have yet to meet a member of staff here who's actually Irish - and the roomies and I went food shopping and cafe-ing at the local organic co-op. Mmmmm. Food. We have now commenced rescue operations on a black lab who's hanging around the lodge, since reception doesn't seem inclined to do much about it. Poor lil thing is young, limping, and VERY friendly. He so cute. :) And it makes me sad. So we will fix it!

Laterz, I have to do homework now. *kiss kiss*
