AP Euro was great. I definitely made Mike Adler shut up. It pleased me to no end. He was going on about how Lord of the Rings relates to WWII and I informed him that Tolkien specifically said that it was not a metaphor for WWII. To which Mike replied, "Well, you can't deny the fact that Tolkien was influenced by the war." Um, obviously. The books are ABOUT WAR. He was a little devastated when I told him that J.R.R. Tolkien was slipping him Christianity through the books. Because really, it's a story of good vs. evil. And Tolkien was a Christian author. So I win. We talked about movies for the rest of the class. I think we're going on a field trip to go see Luther...the movie about Martin Luther. If Miss Hughes can't get it cleared through administration, everyone's getting an early release and meeting up there.
AP Lang...makes me angry. That paper written by that kid makes me angry. Amherst is NOT only beneficial to white Christians. What the hell is he talking about? A majority of the community is white, but that has NOTHING to do with absence of opportunities for people of other races.
P.S. Robert Palmer died. That's not fair. He was addicted to love; not drugs.
