Saturday: Art gallery. Wonderul. Although my family does not appreciate art nearly as much as I do. With literature, I absolutely loathe metaphors and symbolism, but for some reason I like those elements in art. Except those paintings that are just like....a green canvs, entitled "Green No. 67" Because I don't understand those. But it was fun. We went to Friday's for lunch and then we went to the mall. I got another Hot Hot Heat CD...I forget the name.
Saturday night I went to Claire's house for her birthday party. It was a good time. People there included Alyssa, Paige, Kelly, Amanda...and then like 3469384157 other people. But most of them left early or came late or whatever. Most of my time was spent in the same chair, in front of a bowl of chips. Paige came to talk to me. It was decided that we both dislike parties. And then Claire's boyfriend brought his two friends. The one kid was totally clinically insane. He kept shouting things like, "DON'T WORRY; I'M FROM THE COUNTRY" and jumping off of her trampoline. Crazy kids.
And then I went down by the pool to talk to Kelly, who was, as always, amazingly humorous. Towards the end of the night, she started behaving so oddly. It was insane. I don't even understand what happened. But she was like rolling around on the ground for an hour. Tyrell kept giving her weird looks, which made her laugh even more.
Somewhere inbetween, Paige got thrown into the pool. Here's the thing with Paige: She claims she doesn't like the water, but it's OBVIOUS that she does. First of all, she did absolutely nothing to prevent herself from getting thrown in. Secondly, once thrown in, SHE DID NOT GET OUT! In fact, she kept jumping back into the pool! Fully clothed!! I don't understand why she feels she must insist that she doesn't like the water.
I got home and did some stuff.
TODAY was the first day for VBS. We got to church at 8-ish and Amy and I set up our room. Mrs. Scarpine told us that there would be about five kids in our class so we went back into the Narthex to wait for them to come. There ended up being fourteen kids in our class. FOURTEEN. And the vast majority were boys. FIRST AND SECOND GRADE boys. Which means non-stop combat fighting, screaming, and inappropriate laughter. Anyway, we got through the introduction and went to arts and crafts. The kids were pretty well-behaved in there, since they were busy. Then we went to the place where they learn songs. Then we went back to the classroom for the lesson. Things start to get a little crazy. Pastor's son is so horrible. He warned us about him, too. George and Nathan are pretty bad, too. And there's this girl Lindsay, who will not shut up. Good children include Starr and Jorde. And M.J. was in our class before we realized that he was in the wrong class. So after teaching the children about Joseph, they got to eat a snack chase each other around the church basement. We went outside to play games and Irene laid down the law. She put up with nothing. I was so grateful. So then we all went back up into the church for the closing and it was good.
But man, those kids...they need to calm down.
