With Michael Cera apparently confirmed to play the staring role in the
movie adaption of one of my favorite books, can we expect another "hip" indie film a la Juno? Will the genius of Nick Twisp be ruined forever in a mediocre haze of bad dialog and condensed plot elements? Will a boring indie band dominate the soundtrack? Will it be marketed towards the disaffected youth of our generation? Will they completely trash the plot? IMDB says, "While his trailer trash parents teeter on the edge of divorce, 14-year-old Nick sets his sights on dream girl Sheeni Saunders, hoping that she'll be the one to take away his virginity." Oh god.
Oh well. In order to not completely disavow the project, I'm going to remain ambivalent.
