Could not have said this better myself. I love this band, and my disappointment over Scarsick was certainly forgotten after listening to this EP. Will be reading this blog now!

I really did not find anything disappointing about Scarsick. In fact, I rank it among my favourite PoS works. I actually prefer it to the overly prog early stuff (up to TPEI). Not that those early albums are bad or anything, but I feel a much more emotional connection with Scarsick than TPEI, which at times, felt very sterile and overly-pre-planned.

To me, Linoleum's biggest strength, as well as Scarsick's, is the more jam-oriented sound, where instead of the songs sounding like intricately constructed and somewhat sterile compositions, they sound like organic jam moments. It sounds like a band getting together in a studio and playing instruments together, which is a sound that's SORELY missing in modern music, even in your coveted "prog-metal" genre.
