This is so lovely! Especially did I love how it went from John's simple name-finding to Sherlock's deep revelation and I had to gulp quite hard there.
Loved this!

Very sweet. With all of Sherlock's observational skills, so much of the time his name must sound like a trial or an obscenity in other people's mouths. He so, so blossoms under John's praise.

I completely agree. You know all the sarcasm and vitriol doesn't get past him and as much as he pretends he doesn't care, it has to hurt. John might grump at him, but he honestly likes Sherlock just as he is and I'm pretty sure Sherlock doesn't get a lot of that.

Anyway, thank you very much for taking the time to comment and I'm so pleased you liked the story.

Lovely and sweet and completely in character. Sherlock's explanation fitted perfectly. And of course John understands, he always does.

Thank you and goodbye!

That was lovely. It was so Sherlock that it hurt - I absolutely can see him being distressed at the way that people use his name, and he probably never even noticed until John came along and started using it differently. So I can totally understand him not wanting John to stop calling him by name. Beautifully thought-out, and really well expressed.

Yikes! Sorry it took so long to reply. (Halloween got the better of me this year.)

Thank you so very very much for the beautiful feedback! I very much appreciate it and I'm so pleased you liked the story.

It did rather catch me, the tone of voice literally everyone, including people who like him like Mrs. Hudson, use when they say his name. It's like everyone is exasperated or upset by him. But then John talks to him like he's just fine like he is and I'm guessing that's why Sherlock keeps looking at him like he has no idea what John is about. (And why he finally has one friend. And why he'd jump off a building to save said friend.)

Anyway, thank you again for taking the time to comment!
