Episodes of school come together like a circus, controlled chaos depending on a network of security.
White graffiti dances on a sea of green.
Binder rings nip at unsuspecting fingers.
Pencils whisper in Morse code, while
the essence of grated erasers flies through the air.
As I pretend to taste the lost flavor of my gum, I can hear the aroma of the cafetorium ready for launch.
The new girl, Jessica from Carlsbad, clings to her map with fright radiating from her eyes. Actually, she doesn’t look that scared.
The sun beckoned for attention and the world seemed to stop, but only for a moment as the parade continued around me.
Loafers bathe in the light of the moment, refusing to stir by reason of weak coiffures.
A pine cone dipped in glitter glue, and a penny from 1942 rest on the ledge.
The harsh cabinet of thoughts and lies awaits employment by the cheerful marks of bruises untold.
I traversed the buildings to a place of smiles and finally met Claire’s little sister there with her twinkling notion of tomorrow’s chance to be the day of awaited tranquility.
The colorful rains and cavils would be forgotten, only to return with the wane of the rising seas.
Yo canta, para un ornitorrinco es enfermo hoy.
And now the clouds can only wait to call down upon the cravings of rejuvenation and order.
