We went to one of those frightening '80s clubs the other night that are totally just like time warps, and they played this song. Man, I love it and will always love it. 'Though apparently it is not widely known outside Scotland, as my friend's boyfriend assured us when it turned out he didn't know it at all. He could have been just saying that so we'd all stop shouting at him, of course.
But anyway, this isn't why I was updating. I was really updating to say that I went out for a couple of hours (for Sundaes, because we haven't had them in ages, and Dr Who discussion) and within seconds of my return there was some crazy family madness. I was gonna bore you with it all, but really it's dull -- my sister and my mum disagree on life goals and the importance of money is really the heart of it.
I understand my mum wants her to be settled and have security, but I dunno. I don't think any of us (my brother and sister and I) think like that. If she has to rent rather than buy a house, then so what, you know? Maybe it's a generation thing, 'cause I know my friends pretty much feel the same. But, yes, it all got rather heated and unpleasant.
But my long rambling entry of how I really don't want 40 grand a year if it means working 14 hours a day has been interrupted by the news that there are Dr Who books online. I think we can guess what I'll be doing for the next few hours. Thank you,
the_41st_night. You have been all kinds of helpful today. *g*
Here's the link to the one I've started, if any of you are interested and don't already know --
Human Nature. I'm enjoying it so far, although I have just read "'It's wonderful,' I opined," which freaked me out a bit. I mean, really, please don't do that? Ain't nothing wrong with 'said.'
