Neighbours suck

Mar 27, 2020 00:14

I posted on twitter today encouraging others to reactivate their dreamwidth accounts to attempt to bring back the fandom connections from yore we all miss but never actually do anything to recover. So here I go, with my first post in forever.

I hate my neighbours across the street. Two years ago someone bought the house and made it into an AirBnB. (I hate the company and all it stands for, so that doesn't help with my wrath.) To circumvent the rule about it having to have someone living there, during the eight month college school year "she" rents the upstairs to students at the local college. They themselves are quiet. But they have always ignored the local street parking law. All winter despite it being illegal, they have had people (mostly visitors, but occasionally their own cars) not in the driveway, which already holds two cars for the upstairs but on the street.

The winter no-parking bylaw is still active, and they are still ignoring it. Clearly it's a small thing in the world that just burns my butt, but now that we are all supposed to be social distancing it's getting to me even more. There is a rotation of about 3 cars, and every night there are usually two there on the street. All are driven by males about the same age as the two girls who live there so I originally thought boyfriends but hey, who knows. I don't care who these people are, I just hate that they are clearly not social distancing on top of what bugged me before, and putting my local community at risk by not doing so.

I needed to rant so if you've reached this far, thanks for reading. I want to go leave notes on the windshields telling them they're asswipes for not distancing, but I know that would be an asshole thing to do so I'm resisting.

In other news, dang if I'm going to bring this back to life for real I really need to redo my layout since it appears to now all be photobucket warning headers, lol.
