Bugger!
I don't know why I wanted to use British swear words, but the situation seemed to call for them, rather than my usual get-my-mouth-washed-out-with-soap choices.
For some reason AO3 decided to merrily add italics throughout the two stories I posted there last night. I looked at the preview before posting and I didn't notice them then. Of course, it was late, so I might well have missed the goofs.
Anyway I've just spent time going slowly over each line in the stories and taking out the html for the italics. I'm a bit cross-eyed at the moment.
Since I used italics to denote speaking telepathically, I hope the random extra bits didn't confuse any readers too much. If so, I apologize.
