I'm an official author
I have received and signed the contract with Dark Quest Books for my story, "In the Middle of Nowhere". So there is now a legal document--a real legal document--that states I am an author. Yep, there's my name and the statement, "...hereinafter called 'author'."
Though Dark Quest is a semi-pro market, it's still a paying market that makes real books. So, I've graduated. I am no longer an "aspiring author", but a real author. Next stop will be, "professional author".
Since selling this story, I've been invited to submit to another anthology, and essentially ordered to write a non-fiction essay on religion in our community. And there's other irons in the fire that I'll share when appropriate.
