Ondoy

First off: I'm okay.

Yeah, I know I've been offline for the past two weeks due to laptop woes, but immediately after I get my laptop back -- to the day, to be exact! -- something else hits my city. Tropical depression ONDOY.

International name: Ketsana. Yes, I must regret to announce, it came from Japan. And like many things that come from Japan, ( Read more... )

real life, trouble

HUG!

I'm so glad you're okay. I was stuck in school in Pasig but that was a lucky state compared to my friends. My house in antipolo & the apartment I'm in at didn't suffer anything at all, despite the fact that my katipunan apartment is at the 1st fucking floor and katipunan was a river. Sadly though, sensei's house was damaged by the flood and her car Benihime drowned =( They're okay thank God. I don't know how else to support her. Please pray for her and all the other people gravely affected.

I'm really glad you're doing okay.

Oh, I'm so glad you're okay too!!! *hugs*

You're really lucky that your apartment wasn't wrecked, despite all the water on Katipunan! I saw the pics of the SUVs looking like bumper cars and just went whoa.

The news really made me cry this weekend, I'm such a big baby but I can't help it. It's horrible.

It's too bad about your sensei, I hope she gets over the shock soon. Where did her car drown? Can they still salvage it?

When things settle down I promise to take you out for coffee so I can give you a hug, because I'm glad you're alive. I PROMISE.

I know. I feel so guilty somehow, knowing what my friends have gone through. I shall extend your hug to my sensei. Her car drowned near their house. We're hoping beni can be revived. I told her not to try to start it and have everything dried.

Oh, I shall bring my sensei with me when we have coffee. ^_^

Yes, I'm all right. *hugs hugs* I'm just worried and stressed out over friends and people I know.

You checked out that blog I linked to, LOL :D Yes, that typhoon was a major bitch. I hope it doesn't travel to Singapore... right now it's in Taiwan!!

I don't need anything... weird huh? I'm okay, I swear. All weekend, we had lots to eat and drink. The orchids in the garden even bloomed, hahaha. But everywhere else... sigh.

If you still want to help, though, you can send something to Red Cross. I know they need to buy boats and big stuff like that, stuff they can only buy by putting together lots of small donations. XD

Don't worry too much about me, I'll be my usual happy self in a couple of days... when things get better.

*hugs*

Don't feel guilty about being all right. There is no sin in being healthy and none in not helping (fuck stupid Catholic preaching). Besides, you did help other people--you gave shelter to your friends, so beating yourself up over what makes you admirable is simply ridiculous; I won't accept it.

Sigh. Once a Catholic, always a Catholic. I'm not going to apologize for that, because even if it's funny to me, I can't shake it off. Trust me, I've been trying ever since I escaped from the nuns at my all-girls school!

WORD! There's nothing like good ol' fashioned Catholic ingraining, you can never escape! :D

I'm so glad you and your friends and loved ones are all alright (well,as much as one can be considering a natural disaster). Those pictures were really moving. The one at the library reminded me of when the University library here was flooded and the entire basement level (history archives, gargh) was completely destroyed.

That line about Japan was funny in a really dark way.

*hugs again* I'll be thinking about you guys. Keep us updated! ;)

*hugs* Thanks.

I didn't take any pictures myself because my place is so clean it's eerie. It's like, the end of the world everywhere else while I can still brew tea and contemplate my orchids. Strange, very strange.

IT CAME FROM JAPAN should be the title of a Hollywood Godzilla remake! XD I'd watch that! It wouldn't be the same, you know, if it was something like IT CAME FROM SWITZERLAND or IT CAME FROM LIECHTENSTEIN.

Man, I would use the title IT CAME FROM JAPAN for something. Like a goofy one-shot or as a title for a Pirates of the Evangelion chapter.

You have my blessing to use IT CAME FROM JAPAN as a title. :D I expect the fic to be goofy, something like Tim Burton's Mars Attacks!
