My first Shunsui x Nanao vignette, written with
_debbiechan_ in mind :) I hope I got them just right.
I might submit this to the BA Festive Art Contest, I'm still thinking about it...
No beta, as usual. Bad habits die hard, but then again it's such a short story... Grammar corrections are welcome, as usual. :)

AHHHHHHHHHHH! *FLAILS AROUND* That was so THEM. I love your narrative voice--you always manage to keep true to the characters you're writing while maintaining a consistent author-tone that doesn't distract from the story. So smart and so funny.
“I told you not to get drink at the party,” Should be drunk.
Otherwise, I am a terrible beta reader and I never catch anything.
I love this story. <3 And you. <3

Thanks too for the correction. *sheepish grin* I think it's a curse -- I mean, I'm competent enough when copy-editing other people's work, but I never seem to catch my own gaffs. Ack.

My confusion with the weird phenomenon of becoming increasingly long-winded aside, I don't got much to say about this. Spelling's okay, characters act like the characters, and the story is too short for me to find any major flaws.
I guess I don't like how Boxing Day/ Christmas is mentioned (since I think it's crazy that these Shinigami should have Christmas shenanigans. Wouldn't they have their own holidays? Why doesn't somebody write that story?) On the other hand, I suppose that's the kind of thing you and a multitude of readers can better relate to, and I do realize that it is the holiday season. Plus, this allows you enter the contest (which I expect you to do now. By the way, this should be a T Rating, in my opinion ( ... )

Yeah, it would be cool to create a Shinigami-only holiday, something quirky... perhaps inspired by an actual Japanese festival. For the sake of clarity I had to explain Boxing Day, btw, for readers not familiar with it :) (I only know about it myself from reading too many British mysteries.) Yamamoto's vice-captain is supposed to be obsessed with Western culture, while Yamamoto's a traditionalist... that's why I felt it would fit or at least be excusable in fanfic. I wanted to hint at how people with opposing ideas can actually get along and appreciate each other, but perhaps that fell flat. Whatever. *shrugs*
I do know that Christmas is for lovers in Japan... that's why Nanao is quite peeved in the story. I think I was aiming for multicultural fluff with a wink.
