Yeah, I'm still alive. Been busy:

- fangirling over Byakuya
- meeting up with friends with complicated romantic entanglements (the shipping hexagon of doom does happen in real life!)
- watching Beowulf (oh, Neil Gaiman, I love you -- did you write in all the butt naked fighting scenes?)
- reading my latest acquisition, Umberto Eco's On Ugliness - ( Read more... )

censorship, movies, the great cesspool, imagination, on writing, by any other name, trouble, ichiruki, neil gaiman, inspiration, on editing, real life, byakuya, books, lemon, fanfiction

Oh, don't worry too much about that IchiRuki fic of mine you haven't read yet. It's a total mess. It's in Beta Land. I'm waiting for Adam to emerge with it bloodied and slashed and I do want him to take his time with it. It's harder to fix major plot mistakes and timeline inconsistencies than spelling or grammar. The less people who read it now, the better. :) After that, I foresee re-writing chunks of text.

When the time is right I will post it, and then you will have a headache -- it's more than 100 pages long. Maybe it will see the light of day in February or March. Maybe.

Since you agree with Capote that three weeks is just typing you have to give me time with this one. :) The longer the work, the more time should be spent revising it. And I don't believe in major revisions online. Grammar and typos are okay, but plot issues? No. I also don't believe in abandoned, unfinished stories either like half the stuff on ff.net. I hate people who waste my time like that!

On stupid writing programs... yeah, some of them are stupid, but not all. I took some writing classes before and they helped. Reading a variety of authors helped more. :)
