What do 300 cookies look like?
Not much, when they're piled up in stacks of 12's and 15's and stuffed in two large cake boxes:
I know they look kind of pale but the specification of I. prioritized texture over color. Each cookie is about 3 1/2 inches in diameter and 1/2 inch thick. They make quite formidable ice cream sandwiches, once they are filled with gourmet ice cream and dipped in nuts and more chocolate chips.
Here's my favorite tea cup -- it's rather oversized. Actually when I was working on it on the wheel, I planned a mug. But I trimmed it too much and it ended up quite stout, without much room for a handle. Despite its awkward size, I love it. It's got a good feel and weight to it, and it's nice to cradle with both hands. I love the warm brown tone and the stress marks.
The other piece is what I call my frosted donut tea cup. The majorca white glaze reminds me of Krispy Kremes.
The last one is just a little pinch pot coiled bowl I gave to my friend F.O. The seafoam green/transparent blue glaze came out brililant.
For those who care about these details, my school's kiln uses cone 6 for all work. They also supply the students with local clay, the quality which varies from time to time.
Despite some basic photography classes my photos are really horrible now due to camera shake. This is what happens when you overwork your hands with both baking, pottery and touch typing.
After double-checking if the thumbnails work, I feel kind of bad because the photos I posted are clear, even in the thumbnails, but not in the larger image. WAH!!!
I haven't been to pottery class in two weeks. I was planning to go today but I'm railroaded with other things like baking. (I don't bake and do pottery on the same day, the clay might get in the food... it's dangerous.)
I have lots of other pieces, including some vases, mallorn leaf pendants, rice bowls, etc., but I'm not very systematic about photographing my work. I even forgot to photograph my biggest work so far, a huge blue and beige pasta bowl I gave to my best friend and his housemates.
