My last day at the Elves was RIDICULOUS. Erin and I baked carrot cake cupcakes from scratch (grating our own carrots...into a laundry basket. I kid you not). For the peopled we'd worked with directly, we made gift packages of shot glasses with key limes and tequila shots that read "Thanks for giving us a shot!" with the Elves logo. The office descended on the cupcakes like zombies on Simon Pegg. We could hear Casting Valerie yelling "IT COMES WITH MINI SALT PACKETS" all the day down the hallway. Then Katie took us out for drinks ;o)
In the midst of all this it seemed like EVERYONE, all of a sudden, became hyperaware of the fact that I'll be back May 25th and am looking for a job in the story development track. My supervisor and the guy I worked with in Story took me around and gave me gushing introductions to the guys in logging (baby entry-level story developers - I was like, logging? Do you know how OCD I am? HIRE ME. O_O). In the end who knows if a position will open up when I'm around, but I have two solid references. If the stars align, we will see.
...I was also putting together clips for the Top Chef reunion show. Fans, you will die laughing.
Also, Top Design returned to the office after wrapping with new refrigerators, so guess which lucky ladies are getting a very Magical free fridge of their very own? I need to get price quotes on moving services.
And finally, I may or may not be getting sick, because I've got the aches and shivers and general miasma of uck. Maybe it's hormonal, maybe it's stress, but it most certainly is inconvenient. Bill and I have much beach time to catch up on between now at The Road Trip to the Future.
