ooof. what a day.
so last night i noticed that one of mooch's claws was looking kinda strage, and upon closer inspection found that it had pierced her paw pad. i guess cats can get ingrown nails like people can, but needless to say, i was pretty worried for her. so, i called up the vet first thing this morning and was able to get a 9:30 appointment. took her in, poor thing was so pissed off and scared she wouldn't let the vet look at her paw. so, they had to sedate her to remove the claw and bandage it up, and since she was due for a teeth cleaning (as in i can't remember her having one.. oops), i figured they might as well do that also, if she'd have to be sedated anyway. so they called with an update around 3, and said that there were two teeth that should be removed, because they had something i can't remember what it's called that basically means the enamel wears away as the pet ages, which can be painful for the pet. so yeah, two teeth pulled, and stitches. in addition to her little front leg being bandaged up from the ingrown claw, and she'll have had to have some of her fur shaved on her leg in order to insert the IV for the anesthesia. poor kitty. :( also, she has to be on wet food for the next two weeks because of the stitches in her mouth, on antibiotics for a week because of her paw injury, and on pain medicine for the next few days or so for both. god i'm not looking forward to giving her medicine.. she never cooperates.. ><
guh my poor mooter! way to go second year in a row expensive vet visit right after new years... >< at least this time there isn't really much risk of her dying.. and she gets to come home today instead of having to stay at the vet.. so that's a relief anyhow. it's just gonna break my heart to see her walkin around with a bandaged paw!! poor fuzz..
so much for all that stuff i was planning to get done today.. oh well. mooch is more important than homework.
