Moses never entered the Promised Land

I went to Confession the other day, then knelt down to begin my assigned penance. Upon completing the first prayer, I felt that I had not prayed it with sufficient attention and sincerity, and was about to begin it again when I received the realization/message, "Don't strike the rock twice." I'd never really thought about it that way before.
