Lately I have become obsessed with William Hurt, not the 80s dreamboat WASPY one but the old, grumpy man one. Here are some movies I saw mostly with Mr.Hurt.
Broadcast News- good stuff, fast paced and totally realistic in the love triangle. Do you go with funny friend who is intelligent and loves you or dumb heart throb you are attracted to only because its weird you find him attractive at all. Ending sucked. Like in Harry Potter you can skip what happens 7 years later, I want to make up my own ending.
The Village- I liked this movie when I saw it in the theater and everyone hated it. Of course the suspense is pretty much gone the second time around. William Hurt is hawt in this I think I like him best when he wears early 19th century clothing and VESTS. I saw the behind the scenes footage where he is dressed as a regular dude with a fucking sweater and a baseball cap. No thank you.
Jane Eyre( 1996)- Here he is in a vest again and chops. Swoon.
Buffalo Soldiers- a movie placed in West Germany right before the fall of the Berlin wall. Joaquin Phoenix. You probably never heard of it because it was released 9/9/2001 and was put on hold for distribution in the US. At the screening in Cannes some women threw a water bottle at the cast saying it was un-american, on IMDB they noted that it did not hit Anna Paquin, one of the actors in the movie (?!). Not one character in this movie was likable but it was good.
