Class of '99

I got the most amusing piece of mail…

So it seems that it has been 5 years since I graced the halls of high school (it feels like it has been more than 5 decades). So to mark the day we all received little pieces of paper and tossed hats in the air, the class is supposed to reunite and play nice with one another.

Now a five-year reunion is retarded all on its own. Who would want to be surrounded by a bunch of people that you shared the most awkward years of your life with? Personally I don’t want to be subjected to fake smiles, fake breasts, and fake stories of the good ol’ days. But Kingsway decided to up the bar on reunions. They are charging $50 a head and $95 a couple for six hours at Egypt (a.k.a. the crappiest club in Philly). Can you smell the class?

Whether or not to attend the 5-year reunion was never a decision that I lost sleep over. I just don’t feel the need to validate myself in front of a bunch of people that couldn’t care less if I existed. But in case your curious (caution self validation approaching) ;) I graduated college with honors in four years, have a good paying job, pay my own bills, live in Wildwood crest, starting my own business, and I get to share it all with the love of my life and wonderful friends and family.

I’m proud of all I have accomplished and continue to accomplish. And while I shared six years with the class of ’99, that is a sentiment that I rather keep to myself.

Since I am knee deep in personal vaildation, I think it is time for a dip in the ocean. Have fun on November 27 class of '99!
