Mmmm….turkey. And stuffing. And potatoes. And broccoli. And wine. And pie. And more turkey!
I hope everyone had as much fun stuffing their faces as I did. I had my doubts that I was actually going to get through dinner without “incident.” In fact I considering training myself in the art of cranberry sauce self defense in case things got ugly. If that didn’t work, I was planning on relying on my old friend…alcohol.
It has been so nice not being in the thick of the family drama. Being on your own allows freedom of seeing friends and family members whenever you feel comfortable. I don’t want it to seem that I take holiday meals together for granted. But I have no idea why they have to bring such stress! The holidays are hard enough on families like mine. Why do we have to join in the frenzy?
Enough of the free flowing rambling. As it turned out, both families behaved themselves fairly well. There was only one episode of someone sucking on the whipped cream can. Other than that, nothing stands out. And I was able to eat turkey in a relative amount of peace.
And remember about the Leftover Party at the apartment this Saturday. Appetizers at 6:00pm and dinner at 7:00pm. See you there!
